I had recently moved to Monterey and was looking for a new dentist. My co-worker recommended Dr. Luba. She informed me that all but one of my fillings were leaking and needed to be replaced immediately. Also, one filling needed to be replaced with an inlay that needed to be made in a lab. I foolishly went ahead with all the work. It was the worst dental experience of my life. Two dental assistants spent almost an hour trying to take the temporary off. The dentist eventually had to do it as I was almost in tears.
I was in in pain for months after getting the other fillings replaced -- I was told to keep taking aspirin and the pain would subside. I eventually went back to my old dentist in San Jose. He said that one of the new fillings was cracked and needed to be replaced. He also found decay under the filling. It took him a quarter of the time to replace it.
Within two years, I had all the fillings and inlay from Dr. Luba replaced. They had either cracked or caused me too much pain.
Before going ahead with Dr. Luba's treatments, I had the office assistant check if my insurance would cover it. She checked and said that I would owe about 20%. I ended up paying about 75%.
